    DESCRIPTION:

    Course Overview:

    The NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting is a course consisting of interactive learning, demonstration, and live fire exercises conducted at a range under the guidance and supervision of an NRA-Certified Instructor.

    Description:

    This eight-hour course is conducted in a classroom (six hours) and live fire exercises (two hours). Students will learn gun safety rules, proper operation of lever, bolt and semi-automatic firearms, ammunition knowledge/selection, selecting and storing a firearm, the fundamentals of shooting, and inspection and maintenance. Each student will receive a Student Study Guide and a Course Evaluation form.

    During the live fire exercises, an NRA-Certified Instructor will validate comprehension and application of gun safety rules, range protocol, proper handling, loading and unloading procedures, application of shooting fundamentals.

    Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the class and receive pre-approval from instructor.

    Certification Requirements:

    Students need a 90% or better score to pass the written exam and demonstrate learning during live fire

    What Students Should Bring:

    • A positive and teachable attitude
    • Lunch, drinks (No Alcohol) and snacks

    NOTE: Rifles and Ammunition are provided by instructor. Please do not bring your own.

    What to wear on the Range:

    Clothing for movement, long pants, closed-toe shoes, long sleeve shirt and baseball hat, eye, ear protection

    Similarly, the SCCSFA education committee will, on occasion, find it necessary to cancel an event. When this need arises, we are committed to taking positive steps to alert you to the cancellation as soon as possible.

    Should a participant who has registered for an event need to cancel:

    Please send cancellation details to the event organizer by email or by telephone.

    Notification up to two weeks prior to an event will provide a full refund.

    Notification of cancellation less than two weeks prior to an event will result in a service fee of 25% plus credit card processing fee If the opening in the event is not filled from the wait list.

    If you have registered for an event or training and do not attend without notifying the organizer of your cancellation the full fee will be payable and non-refundable.

    Inaugural

    Sportsman Pumpkin Carve


    A member’s and their family event will be held on Saturday October 10th in the Camping Area from 1 to 4PM.

    Activities include pumpkin painting and carving, All pumpkins, paint, and carving supplies will be provided.


    There will also be a hayride, food, and refreshments at the event.


    When registering you must include the number of audit and children that will be in your group. As well as the number of pumpkins for painting and carving your family will need.


    Members and guest need to sign-in at the Lobby and as always, members are required to display their Membership ID Card.

    THIS IS AN ENTRY (LEVEL I) CLASS

    Girlz N Guns would like to invite all women to their Ladies Intro to Shooting class.  Do you want to learn how to shoot in a safe, friendly, all female environment?  Round up the girls for some fun!

    This class is perfect for new gun owners, those thinking about getting a gun or if you have not had a formal training class.

    This class is open to both club members and guests.

    Cost:

    $130 for members

    $150 for guests


    Included:

    • Classroom and 1 on 1 range time with female Instructors
    • Guns
    • Ammo
    • Targets
    • Hearing and Eye Protection

    What to bring: 

    • Driver's License

    What to wear: 

    • Closed toe shoes

      NOTE: This class is a continuation of the Intro (Level I) Class, offering further instruction in gun safety and shooting fundamentals in a supportive, all-female environment. Complete the course and earn your certificate of completion.

      Prerequisite: Intro to shooting Part 1 OR equivalent formal training.
