    DESCRIPTION:

    Course Overview:

    The NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting is a course consisting of interactive learning, demonstration, and live fire exercises conducted at a range under the guidance and supervision of an NRA-Certified Instructor.

    Description:

    This eight-hour course is conducted in a classroom (six hours) and live fire exercises (two hours). Students will learn gun safety rules, proper operation of lever, bolt and semi-automatic firearms, ammunition knowledge/selection, selecting and storing a firearm, the fundamentals of shooting, and inspection and maintenance. Each student will receive a Student Study Guide and a Course Evaluation form.

    During the live fire exercises, an NRA-Certified Instructor will validate comprehension and application of gun safety rules, range protocol, proper handling, loading and unloading procedures, application of shooting fundamentals.

    Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the class and receive pre-approval from instructor.

    Certification Requirements:

    Students need a 90% or better score to pass the written exam and demonstrate learning during live fire

    What Students Should Bring:

    • A positive and teachable attitude
    • Lunch, drinks (No Alcohol) and snacks

    NOTE: Rifles and Ammunition are provided by instructor. Please do not bring your own.

    What to wear on the Range:

    Clothing for movement, long pants, closed-toe shoes, long sleeve shirt and baseball hat, eye, ear protection

    Similarly, the SCCSFA education committee will, on occasion, find it necessary to cancel an event. When this need arises, we are committed to taking positive steps to alert you to the cancellation as soon as possible.

    Should a participant who has registered for an event need to cancel:

    Please send cancellation details to the event organizer by email or by telephone.

    Notification up to two weeks prior to an event will provide a full refund.

    Notification of cancellation less than two weeks prior to an event will result in a service fee of 25% plus credit card processing fee If the opening in the event is not filled from the wait list.

    If you have registered for an event or training and do not attend without notifying the organizer of your cancellation the full fee will be payable and non-refundable.

    SCCSFA Archery Classes for Member's Only

    The Archery Committee is conducting a class for Experienced Beginner or Intermediate Level  Archers. This Course is for Members Only who are at least 18 years old. 

    Purpose is to help the archer build on basic skills with more advanced techniques, with an emphasis on consistency, accuracy and the understanding of different shooting styles.

    This course is a three class sessions class beginning on Wednesday November 5th from 7pm to 9pm. The second and third classes are also on a Wednesday Evenings, November 12th and the 19th. The cost for this class is $30.

    Archer must have their own equipment

    Class will only hold 20 people so please register early

    (There will be a waitlist but enrollment is not guaranteed.)

  • Utah Concealed Carry Permit

    Description: Concealed carry aficionados and enthusiasts know that the Utah Non-resident Concealed Carry Permit is the permit to have. Knowing that your training will exceed the Utah minimum mandated standards, your confidence and knowledge will exceed your expectations. Our instructors have former law enforcement experience and can relate real world experiences and situations to you.  With your Utah Concealed Carry Permit, you'll travel with confidence, for pleasure and/or business, now that you can continue to maintain your personal safety across town, across the state or across the country, being able to carry in more states across the country than most other concealed carry permit. Student candidates must complete the entire approved classroom course with a Utah State Certified Instructor. Delaware Firearms Training has a Utah certified instructor on staff with former law enforcement experience.

    This is a 6\7 hour class (classroom lecture only, processing time for photo & fingerprinting not included in the classroom time by Utah law), and your investment is only $165.00 (not including State of Utah processing fee), which includes the following:  Complete 55-page printed book on thumbdrive (required by Utah), notepaper, pens, highlighters,   APPLICATION, PASSPORT PHOTO and FINGERPRINT CARD COMPLETED, and we even UPS\FEDEX the completed Application package to the State of Utah the next business day.  Coffee & Donuts are served in the morning, and lunch is included.

    The course elements, as mandated by the State of Utah, Bureau of Criminal Identification, are exceeded and cover many different aspects of firearms safety and ownership, transportation of firearms (intra & interstate), laws and legal responsibilities, and our NEWEST ADDITION-- CONCEALED CARRY CONCEPTS. If you already have your Delaware or Pennsylvania Permit, adding this Utah Permit allows you to carry your handgun concealed in over 30 states! (If you're a New Jersey or Maryland resident, you'll need to add Florida -- contact us for details.)

    The fees to apply for a concealed firearm permit are $52.00 for Utah residents and $87.00 for non-residents.  Please make checks and money orders payable to the “Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification.” All major credit cards accepted for your permit.

  • New Jersey Concealed Carry Course

    New Jersey Concealed Carry Class

    Course Overview:

    The objective of this comprehensive safety course is to provide the student with the knowledge required to safely own, carry, and shoot a firearm. It is designed to exceed New Jersey’s training requirements for citizens seeking to apply for their New Jersey permit to carry a handgun.

    There will be a review of marksmanship fundamentals, holster draws, and time to practice. However, this qualification requires that the individual is already comfortable handling their firearm, to include reloading and working from a holster.

    The qualification consists of 50 rounds fired at an FBI-Q target at distances ranging from three yards to 15 yards. Minimum passing score is 80% (40 of the 50 rounds must hit). There is no time limit for completing the course.

    Curriculum:

    This is a four-hour qualification broken into two parts:

    • 1.5 hours in the classroom (9:00am-10:30am)
    • 2.5 hours on the shooting range (~10:30am-1:00pm)

  • First Aid/Stop The Bleed with CPR/AED

    DESCRIPTION:

    Each year, more than 350,000 EMS-assessed out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the United States. According to the American Heart Association, 90 percent of people who suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests die.

    When a person has a cardiac arrest, their survival depends on immediately receiving CPR from someone nearby. CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double, or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival.

    In his years of service, He has seen too often people will not start CPR on someone, either because they are scared or because they do not know how. Every minute that CPR is withheld decreases chances of survival by 10%.

    Because he has seen a family’s hurt when a loved one is lost due to the lack of receiving such care, He decided to help as many people as possible to understand and learn how easy it really is to apply this life-saving technique.

    Join us for a hands-on, educational class designed to equip you with essential life-saving skills. In this engaging session, you'll learn the basics of CPR, First Aid, AED use, and Stop the Bleed techniques. Whether you're new to these skills or need a refresher, this class offers practical training that could one day help you save a life. Be prepared—because when every second counts, your knowledge can make the difference.

    INSTRUCTOR:

    Sean Barron is a SCCSFA member and the Communications Committee Lead managing the Club’s Facebook page. He lives in Chester County working for 15 years in the Fire/EMS Emergency Services. He is a certified Stop the Bleed and CPR/AED instructor through the American Heart Association, He is a full-time career FF/NREMT with Cleveland Cliffs Plate (Formerly Lukens Steel) in Coatesville, PA, part time with Downingtown Fire Department; Minquas EMS, and part time with the Royersford Fire Dept in Montgomery County. He is also an active member with the Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company and the East Brandywine Volunteer Fire Company.
