Crossbows on SCCSFA Ranges Suspended Indefinitely
February 25,2011 08:35
Until further notice, crossbows may not be used on either the indoor or outdoor archery ranges.
The backstops are not designed to stop crossbow bolts. We are seeing bolts completely passing through and hitting the wall on the indoor range. Other bolts are getting embedded up to the nock in the backstop and removal is causing damage to the backstops. The Archery Committee is investigating ways to allow the use of crossbows at SCCSFA, but until this issue is solved, crossbow use is no longer permitted at SCCSFA.
Questions about the crossbow policy should be addressed to the Archery Committee, archery@sccsfa.org.
Special Notice Re: Hanging Targets
December 06,2010 10:40
Due to some members and/or guests shooting up the target frames, supports and overhead baffles, we need to post this:
Do not shoot the 6X6 upright posts or the overhead baffles on the 100yd range nor is anyone to place targets on/over the 4X4 upright posts or 2X4 cross rails on any range target backers. Every shot that impacts these items removes material from them causing an early failure. Anyone caught shooting at these items will be brought in front of the Executive Committee to answer for their actions & may result in not only having to pay for the damage but may also result in permanent expulsion form the Association. Targets are only to be placed on the plywood surface of the backers.
Know your target & what is beyond.
It is the intention of this Association to enforce all of its rules. It is expected that all members & guests be in full compliance of the association's rules & policies.
Each & every member is responsible for enforcement of the club's rules.
