Junior Program

Junior Trap Program

We are planning a Junior Trap/Shotgun program this year. The Friends of the NRA has donated all the supplies necessary to have a class of 20. Next we need YOU. We need 8 Shotgun Instructors (or those willing to take the training). Each person will be needed two Saturday Mornings for about 4 hours in late April, early May. We plan on having two classes of 10 youths each. The class of 4 weeks will consist of both classroom and range. The range portion will include learning the operation of the range as well as firing. Parents welcome, release of liability form required. We have 5 youth model shotguns available. Safe personal firearms are OK, no reloaded shells.

For information contact: Gordon Hendry @
gmhendry@verizon.net or 302-456-1656 or Larry Bickings at Junior@sccsfa.org.

We have arranged for the following NRA training. Please contact the trainer yourself.

NRA Training:

On Saturday, April 21st, and Saturday April 28th, Mark Garfinkel and Todd Morgan, NRA Training Counselors will hold an NRA Instructor Shotgun course. Course observation will be any Sunday on the trap range. A score of 13 out of 25 is required to pass, and each student must attend both days plus the observation. This will be presented so that the club can present a Junior program in Trap this year. This is an excellent course for those Scout leaders whose troop needs to work on the shotgun merit badge. We need 6 students minimum to hold this course. The cost is $200.00 per person. The schedule is as follows; NRA Instructor Basic Training Course, Sat April 21st,and the Shotgun instructors course on April 28th from 9am to 5pm Classroom only. Contact:
